It is the L14AM 1" TUBE 2" TRICLAMP BUTT WELD FERRULE manufactured to 3A and BPE standards. It was used as the BASELINE PART for a LATHE FERRULE, END CAP and ADAPTER FAMILY OF PARTS MACHINING PROCESS.

The raw material is 304 and 316L stainless steel purchased with certificates for tractability.
The first operation is machined from 2” diameter bar stock cut to 3 foot lengths using a spindle liner, serrated hard jaws and a bar puller.
The second operation is machined in bored soft jaws held with low chuck pressure.
